Yerevan /Mediamax/. The large-scale strategic military exercise "Deployment of the armed forces and resistance to the adversary’s aggression” has kicked off in Armenia today.
At 6 a.m. the government signed the decision on conventional martial law, under which the command bodies and personnel of the armed forces were brought to full combat readiness with corresponding restrictions.
The Chief of General Staff of the army assumed the command for the police and border guard, both ready to fulfill the orders.
The units and equipment involved in combat duty, which comply with the requirements for the exercise, continue fulfilling combat duty (protection of the state border) and ensure regrouping and transition to defense of the rest of the armed forces.
All recruitment offices are ready to provide supplement and mobilization for the armed forces and are already fulfilling that task.
The exercise will end on October 5.
