Yerevan /Mediamax/. An agreement on a free trade zone between the Eurasian Economic Union (EAEU) and Iran can be reached as early as next year.
This was stated by Iranian ambassador to Moscow Kazem Jalali in an interview with TASS.
“The technical aspects of the issues can be resolved in a short time. Of course, the interval between the contracting parties may adjust the negotiation period. Therefore, if the contracting parties continue their meetings regularly, we hope to achieve good results next year,” he said.
Jalali said that negotiations have already begun on the list of goods subject to the free trade agreement and stressed the need of several more rounds of negotiations.
He reminded that on November 2-3, 2021, negotiations were held in Yerevan between the negotiating teams of Iran and the five member countries of the EAEU and the Eurasian Economic Commission.
