Yerevan /Mediamax/. The office of the third president of Armenia responded today to the statement of the law enforcement bodies of Baku about launching criminal persecution against Serzh Sargsyan and putting him on the wanted list.

The statement of Serzh Sargsyan’s office says:

“Bringing charges against Serzh Sargsyan by the Aliyev regime is ridiculous in itself, and the forwarded accusations are cynical.

Cynical, because Aliyev, who has mastered genocidal policy over the years and turned Armenophobia into a state policy in Azerbaijan throughout his tenure, has no moral right to speak about Serzh Sargsyan, let alone to accuse him.

For years, Aliyev has faced the skilled diplomacy of Serzh Sargsyan, who was representing Armenia with dignity, and witnessed President Sargsyan’s high credit, not having fallen at all in the international community even after his resignation.

The third President of the Republic of Armenia Serzh Sargsyan, even after leaving the office, continued and will continue to represent the national, state interests of Armenia abroad due to his extensive ties and experience.

Like since 1988, now as well, President Sargsyan will continue to pursue the realization of the right of the Armenian people, living in their sacred Armenian land – Artsakh – for thousands of years, to live freely, independently and safely.

Remarkably, inside the country the second president Robert Kocharyan and the third president Serzh Sargsyan are being persecuted by the defeatist authorities, and outside the country they are being persecuted by the Azerbaijani ruling clan, which has become an actual ally of the defeatist authorities.

Neither the acting regime in Armenia nor those pursuing him outside Armenia will succeed to stop Serzh Sargsyan from carrying out his mission.

We are confident that along with the trial of history, the time will come to punish those who committed crimes against the Armenian people.”
