Yerevan /Mediamax/. Former minister of defense of Armenia Davit Tonoyan continues to demand open and public trial.

This was reported in a statement issued by the defense team of the ex-minister.

“We inform that the first court hearing of the criminal case against Davit Tonoyan and other persons scheduled for 04.02.2022 did not take place and was postponed for an indefinite period due to the ill health of the participants of the trial, as well as the presiding judge.

At the same time, we inform that Davit Tonoyan continues to insist and demand an open and public trial, which, by the unfounded decision of judge Manvel Shahverdyan, due to his absolute lack of professional knowledge of state and military secret concepts, is being held behind closed doors. We continue to insist that criminal case files do not contain any state or military secret information labeled “top secret” and that the investigated materials mostly contain official secret,” the statement said.
