Yerevan /Mediamax/. The Collective Security Treaty Organization (CSTO) is unaware if the Syrian mercenaries have left the Karabakh conflict region, where they fought.
TASS reports that CSTO’s General Secretary Stanislav Zas has made the announcement at the briefing today.
“We had information about the presence and activity of Syrian militants in the conflict zone and considered it a certain risk for our countries, our bloc. I cannot say where these militants are now and if they are still in Karabakh,” he said.
According to Stanislav Zas, Armenia did not request activation of CSTO mechanisms to get assistance in the solution of NK conflict.
“Why did not CSTO interfere? You should not assume that our organization only followed the situation and demanded to stop the hostilities and get to the negotiation table. No, we did plenty of work,” stated Zas.
