Yerevan /Mediamax/. Artsakh President Arayik Harutyunyan has relieved Lieutenant General Jalal Harutyunyan from his duties as Defense Minister of Artsakh and Commander of the Defense Army.

“This decision is dictated by the moment, by the wound he has received in the combat post these days. It should not be a reason for speculations,” said Arayik Harutyunyan.

By another decree, Major General Mikael Arzumanyan has replaced Jalal Harutyunyan as Minister of Defense of Artsakh, Commander of the Defense Army. He has been awarded the military rank of Lieutenant General.

“I wish Jalal Harutyunyan a speedy recovery and I am sure that he will return to the service for the homeland very soon. I am certain Mikael Arzumanyan understands the level of responsibility in his new position and will spare no effort and energy to justify that trust,” added the President of Artsakh.
