Pashinyan, Michel, Aliyev due to meet on April 6

Yerevan /Mediamax/. Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan, President of the European Council Charles Michel and Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev are set to meet in Brussels on April 6.

The information about the trilateral meeting appeared on the weekly schedule of the President of the European Council.

 

Mediamax notes that the last meeting of such format was held on December 15, 2021 in Brussels. After it the press service of the Armenian premier issued the following statement:

 

“Armenian Prime Minister and Azerbaijani President reaffirmed the agreement on reopening the railway. According to it, the railway will operate in accordance with internationally accepted border and customs rules, on a reciprocal basis, under the sovereignty and jurisdiction of the countries. Armenia will have access to the Islamic Republic of Iran and the Russian Federation by rail.”

 

During the following months Nikol Pashinyan several times voiced hope that the agreement on re-operation of the railway would get legal formulation.

 

On February 4 with the mediation and participation of President of France Emmanuel Macron and President of the European Council Charles Michel remote meeting of the Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan and Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev took place.
