Yerevan to shift to energy-saving lighting system

Yerevan /Mediamax/. The 4-year pilot project for curbing greenhouse gas emissions, enhancing energy-efficient systems, applying energy-saving technologies and modernizing lighting system kicks off in Yerevan.

The Yerevan Mayor’s Office reports that the lighting system at Isakov avenue will be replaced after the relevant specialists are retrained.

Head of Department of Development and Investment Programs of the Mayor’s Office Armen Harutyunyan said that the project is likely to be expanded involving parks and streets.

 “Green Urban Lighting” 4-year pilot project is implemented by Yerevan Mayor’s Office jointly with the UNDP, Global Environment Fund and other structures.
