Yerevan /Mediamax/. The Ministry of Health of Armenia intends to submit to the National Assembly next week a legislative package on centralized management of the healthcare system during the state of emergency.
The ministry has said that if the assembly passes the package, the government will have the authority to transfer the management of all medical centers in the country to the Health Ministry during the state of emergency, regardless of the format of affiliation and ownership of the centers.
The Health Ministry will also have the right to appoint acting heads of medical centers, who will report directly to the ministry.
A similar regulation is provided for in Article 11 of the Law on the martial law, which indicates that in such periods the management of all medical institutions (regardless of ownership) must be transferred to the Health Ministry.
