Yerevan/Mediamax/. Viva-MTS General Manager Ralph Yirikian believes that the purchase of Beeline Armenia by Ucom could disturb the balance in the fixed-line networks market.
Ucom confirmed on January 16 that it was negotiating with VEON on purchase of its Armenian business, Beeline Armenia. A Mediamax project, Itel.am has talked with Ralph Yirikian about the possible deal.
“If we buy a fixed-line services provider, we will be able to secure a certain level of competition in the convergent sector, but the deal would still disturb the balance,” said Yirikian.
He has also underlined that “nothing will really change for us in the mobile communications market”.
