Yerevan /Mediamax/. President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev stated that his December meeting with Armenian President Serzh Sargsyan was “formal”.

Speaking at a meeting of the Cabinet of Ministers of Azerbaijan, Ilham Aliyev said that the reason for the lack of progress in the negotiations is that “Armenia does not want peace and is trying to maintain the status quo as long as possible and does not intend to get out from the occupied lands”.

“Armenia is stalling, wants to see the negotiations as a never-ending process. And we want to resolve the conflict. The OSCE Minsk Group has also repeatedly stated that they want to achieve a solution to the conflict. Naturally, this is the duty of mediators. It is regrettable that there is no serious pressure on the occupant”, stated the President of Azerbaijan.

“Azerbaijan has achieved benefits on the frontline in 2015, dictating its will and will continue to strengthen its military potential”, said Ilham Aliyev.
