Yerevan /Mediamax/. Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan stated today that the proposal of the Armenia side to withdraw the troops in a mirror way will not predetermine the results of the demarcation which should be a subject of negotiations.

Speaking at the NA today he noted that the proposals of the Armenian side are based on “legitimate and legal recordings.”

“The troops must be withdrawn at an equal distance from the Armenian-Azerbaijani border line, after which the border protection must be handed over to a limited number of border guards. International monitoring should also be carried out in order to implement the reached agreements. A fundamental question arises. Is there a state border between Armenia and Azerbaijan? Our answer is yes, because there was a border between Armenia and Azerbaijan in Soviet times, which was delimited, and in 1991 these borders were recognized by the agreement on the establishment of the CIS organization, ratified by the parliaments of Armenia and Azerbaijan. We believe that the agreements should be implemented by this logic,” Pashinyan said.

He noted that the Armenian side “is ready to listen to other proposals as well.”
