Turkic leaders and Hungarian PM to hold a summit

Yerevan /Mediamax/. Leaders of the member states of the Turkic Council will hold a meeting on March 31, Kazakhstan’s MFA has announced.

The summit of the council (Cooperation Council of Turkic-Speaking States) will take place in Turkestan (the administrative center of Turkenstan region of Kazakhstan).

 

The summit is organized at the initiative of Kazakhstan’s 1st President Nursultan Nazarbayev.

 

All heads of member states and the Prime Minister of Hungary Viktor Orban, which performs as an observer in the council, have confirmed attendance.

 

The council includes Azerbaijan, Turkey, Kyrgyzstan, Kazakhstan and Uzbekistan. Turkmenistan is “possible future member” and Ukraine is “possible future observer”.

 

In 2012, Hungary’s PM Viktor Orban made a deal with Azerbaijani authorities on extradition of Ramil Safarov, jailed for life in Budapest for the cruel murder of Armenian army officer Gurgen Margaryan.
