Yerevan/Mediamax/. Prime Minister of Armenia Nikol Pashinyan has said today that "corruption is not a creature with a scary face, a pair of hooves and a tail”.
“Sometimes it has a charming, attractive and even seductive face, which further worsens the matter. We have noticed at the highest political level that creating prohibitions on known and obvious ways of corruption does not guarantee absence of corruption,” Pashinyan remarked at the expert conference “Fighting corruption to achieve sustainable development goals”.
The Prime Minister stressed that there are no such concepts as previous or current government in the fight against corruption.
“It is more unacceptable for us if someone I appointed gets involved in corruption than someone representing the previous government,” he noted.
Nikol Pashinyan added that at least 4 high-ranking officials have been charged on corruption counts in Armenia over the last year and a half.
