Yerevan /Mediamax/. Former President of Armenia Robert Kocharyan, accused of overthrowing the constitutional order, stated that the "large-scale and systematic political struggle is expected in autumn”.
“The consolidation and formation of partnership in opposition will be finished in autumn, and a large-scale political struggle is expected,” Robert Kocharyan stated in an interview to Golos Armenii newspaper.
At the same time, ex-President of Armenia noted that “I will be an important element in these processes, but not the only one”. Robert Kocharyan also said that if parliamentary opposition doesn’t radicalize, then it will lose its electorate.
“I think that the issue of power will be solved on the street...in early parliamentary elections. Current authorities will not last long with this quality of governance and will have no perspective for reelection. By that time the voters will be fed up with the populists and become pickier in the next elections. The failed populists are usually replaced by experienced, educated and balanced pragmatists, and this is the logic of political processes,” Robert Kocharyan stated.
