Yerevan /Mediamax/. “Armenia is chairing EAEU and CSTO, which is a heavy load on the country that is going through a transitional period,” President of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko said today at the meeting with Ambassador of Azerbaijan Latif Gandilov, TASS reports.
“It does not mean we are infringing on Armenia’s interests, there are no winners and losers here. Pashinyan simply needs to sort out the situation in the Armenian government. His country is chairing EAEU and CSTO, which is a heavy load on the country that is going through a transitional period. Can Armenia pull through? If Pashinyan sorts it out and gives us the answer, we will meet in St. Petersburg and make the decision,” said Lukashenko.
“Belarus is the next country in the alphabetical order, and we are ready to suggest our candidacy. I actually have three candidacies at the moment for the position of CSTO Secretary General,” noted the Belarusian President.
