Yerevan /Mediamax/. The NK conflict is far from being settled, Acting Foreign Minister of Armenia Ara Aivazian has reaffirmed at the joint press conference with Russian FM Sergey Lavrov today.
“Only though exclusively peaceful means can we achieve a comprehensive political settlement that will take into account everyone’s rights and bring peace and stability to the South Caucasus. The foundation of such a settlement should be, primarily, the determination of Artsakh’s status within the boundaries in which the people of Artsakh self-determinate,” said Aivazian.
He has stressed that although some Armenian POWs were released from Azerbaijan thanks to Russia’s mediation, the issue of POWs remains urgent.
“Almost six months after the end of the hostilities, Azerbaijan refuses to return all POWs and captured civilians in violation of the international humanitarian law,” stressed Ara Aivazian.
