Yerevan /Mediamax/. Foreign Minister of Armenia Ara Ayvazyan today has stated that the Karabakh conflict has entered into a new phase, in which the Armenian sides need to form a single agenda.

“The statements of President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev are contradictory. On one hand he notes that the conflict is resolved, and on the other he makes provocative remarks that fuel the flames of the conflict and hinder establishment of security and peace in the region,” said Ayvazyan during the Q&A in the parliament of.

Ayvazyan has announced that during the visit to Artsakh on January 5, he discussed the need to form a single agenda and coordinate efforts.

“The Armenian side is ready to start negotiations in the format of Minsk Group co-chairmanship and conduct the talks on the fundamental principles, which were agreed on previously. Our primary concerns are also de-occupation and safe return of Armenian population to settlements,” said Ara Ayvazyan.

Commenting on Azerbaijan’s remarks about Shushi, the Foreign Minister has said:

“Shushi is an Armenian cultural center and regardless of who says what, we will not agree with the claims that Shushi could become a Turkic cultural center. I am certain we will have the support of the international community in this matter.”
