Yerevan /Mediamax. Russian Foreign Ministry Spokeswoman Maria Zakharova has stated today that "unfortunately, the terrorists who were brought to the territory of Nagorno Karabakh have not gone anywhere.”
“This is concrete information based on facts that have been confirmed not only by Russia. We assume that the issue will be resolved, and all parties interested in peace in the region must make efforts to resolve it.
Military experts are dealing with this issue now, but I think it probably requires a more specific level of work, after which there will be reports on the results,” said Maria Zakharova.
She has noted that “Russia has not abandoned the Armenians or Armenia, but has made every effort to resolve the situation.”
“Initially, we applied diplomacy, international law, negotiation process, and now we transferred the peacekeepers as well. Those who write articles and make televised speeches should remember that the security, peace and future of the people of that region are currently ensured by the Russian peacekeepers. This is the answer to the question of how sincerely the leadership of our country is interested in the stability of that region,” Zakharova said.
Touching on Turkey’s presence in the region, she has reaffirmed that there will be no Turkish peacekeepers in Nagorno-Karabakh.
