Yerevan /Mediamax/. In an article "Who revived the madness in Nagorno Karabakh”, Saudi Asharq al-Awsat newspaper writes that "Moscow will wait and see how far Turkish President will go.”

“As for Erdogan, he will act slowly in anticipation of Russia’s a sudden response,” the author of the article notes.

“Turkey strives to be an important figure on the international arena and is not only expanding its presence in conflict zones, but is also opening several fronts of confrontation with Europeans, Arabs and Russians in their traditional zones of influence,” the newspaper writes.

“Russia is a dominant part of the Caucasus region. This is why Turkey cannot go far here.  On the other hand, the Azerbaijani Nakhichevan region is on the territory of Armenia. It is located near Turkey and is likely to become a Turkish military foothold for assisting Azerbaijan. Therefore, the battle is not between Azerbaijan and Armenia, but between Nagorno-Karabakh and Nakhichevan,” Asharq al-Awsat reports.

The author of the article notes that “the Turks have staged the Armenian Genocide but they deny it despite the evidence and recognition of the historical fact by many countries.”
