Yerevan /Mediamax/. Presidents of France and Russia have “discussed thoroughly the drastic escalation in Karabakh conflict zone” during the phone conversation on September 30.

“The parties have expressed serious concerns over the ongoing large-scale hostilities.

Vladimir Putin and Emmanuel Macron have urged the warring parties to establish immediate and full ceasefire, de-escalate the situation and exercise maximal restraint. The two leaders have underlined that there is no alternative to the settlement of the conflict through political and diplomatic means. In this context, they have considered concrete parameters of further cooperation, primarily in the framework of OSCE Minsk Group. The parties have expressed readiness to issue a statement urging for immediate ceasefire and renewal of peace talks on behalf of the heads of Minsk Group co-chair states (Russia, France and the USA),” the Kremlin press service said in a statement.
