Yerevan /Mediamax/. Acting Foreign Minister of Armenia Edward Nalbandian said in Yerevan today that "Armenia is always ready to restore diplomatic relations with Hungary".

He said this addressing a joint press conference with Secretary General of Council of Europe Thorbjorn Jagland today, Mediamax reports.

"Armenia is always ready to restore diplomatic relations with Hungary but Budapest will take up relevant steps", said Nalbandian.

On August 31, 2013, Armenian President Serzh Sargsyan stated that Armenia suspends diplomatic relations and all the official ties with Hungary. The decision resulted from extradition of Ramil Safarov, who was sentenced to life imprisonment in Hungary for having killed Armenian officer Gurgen Margaryan, to Azerbaijan where the murderer was pardoned and glorified.
