Yerevan /Mediamax/. Armenia expects that the issue of Nagorno-Karabakh will remain on the agenda of the OSCE Minsk Group.

Armenian Foreign Affairs Minister Ararat Mirzoyan said about it during the joint news conference with the OSCE Chairman-in-Office Zbigniew Rau.

“This is especially important these days, when Azerbaijan uses geopolitical developments to continue its policy of ethnic cleansing in Nagorno Karabakh,” Ararat Mirzoyan said.

He stressed that the incursion of the Azerbaijani armed forces into the village of Parukh in Artsakh was a pre-planned aggression, which is an obvious contempt for the commitments assumed by 2020 November 9 trilateral statement.

“In this situation, the clear response of the OSCE Chairman-in-Office and the international community becomes an imperative. We expect that the OSCE Minsk Group Co-Chairs will soon be able to hold peace talks with a view of concluding a comprehensive peace agreement,” the minister said.

Zbigniew Rau in his turn reiterated the commitment of the OSCE Minsk Group to establish peace and stability in the region.

“My serious concern is that the security situation in the region remains unstable. The Polish Presidency of the OSCE strongly supports all initiatives aimed at facilitating the dialogue between Armenia and Azerbaijan. Real dialogue is extremely important for promoting trust and reducing escalation. We are determined to apply to both Armenia and Azerbaijan for them to be involved in the negotiations in order to reach a comprehensive solution to all existing problems,” he said.
