Yerevan /Mediamax/.” Spokesperson of Armenian Ministry of Foreign Affairs Vahan Hunanyan stated today that "the Armenian side has no preconditions in the issue of delimitation, it is simply about agreements.”

The spokesperson said about it in response to Armenpress’ request to comment on the statement of the Azerbaijani Minister of Foreign Affairs Jeyhun Bayramov that “Yerevan’s preconditions for starting delimitation are unacceptable for Baku.”

Hunanyan also said that there is some misunderstanding regarding the issue.

“The November 26 Sochi statement of the Prime Minister of Armenia and the Presidents of Russia and Azerbaijan notes that the sides have agreed to “take steps in the direction of increasing the level of security and stability on the Azerbaijani-Armenian border and to move towards the formation of a bilateral commission for delimitation and demarcation. This agreement was reaffirmed and an agreement on starting a process of withdrawing troops was reached during the December 14 trilateral meeting between the Armenian and Azerbaijani leaders in Brussels with the mediation of the President of the European Council,” Hunanyan said.

He stressed that the proposals of the Armenian side are not about preconditions, but rather about the implementation of the reached agreements.

“Armenia believes that the delimitation process must be launched swiftly in accordance with the abovementioned agreements,” the ministry’s spokesperson said.
