Yerevan /Mediamax/. Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev stated that “the current U.S. administration has taken a one-sided pro-Armenian position.”

According to Interfax-Azerbaijan, Aliyev stated about it during an interview with local TV channels:

“During the war, France, even though it was supposed to be neutral, as a mediator, unambiguously took a pro-Armenian position. After the war, the USA, even though that they are mediators and had to stay neutral, openly took a pro-Armenian position.”

Aliyev stressed that two episodes serve as the basis for this conclusion – inviting Armenia to the Summit for Democracy and not inviting Azerbaijan to this meeting and the visit of Armenia’s Security Council Secretary to Washington and no visit of the Azerbaijani Security Council Secretary.

“Human rights are grossly violated in Armenia, the political opposition is arrested, political opponents are persecuted. For what merits was Armenia invited? ”Aliyev stated.

At the same time, he noted that Azerbaijan “did not lose anything from not being invited to the so-called “Summit for Democracy” – “it was not worth bothering yourself for a two-minute-long speech.”
