Pashinyan says no visible ease of tension noticed in the CSTO zone

Yerevan /Mediamax/. Armenia’s Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan stated today that “no visible ease of tension is noticed in the CSTO responsibility zone and we continue facing new kinds of threats.”

Pashinyan stated about it during the special session of the CSTO Collective Security Council the agenda of which included the issue on the “Situation in the Republic of Kazakhstan and Steps of its Regulation.”

 

“The situation in Kazakhstan raises special concern regarding the inflowing information on the involvement of international terrorist organization. Not long ago, we ourselves encountered the emergence of foreign terrorists in our region. We hope that the efforts to help friendly Kazakhstan within the CSTO will help to restore the normal life in the country in short period of time,” he said.

 

Nikol Pashinyan also noted that one of the key priorities of Armenia’s chairmanship in the CSTO is the strengthening of the Organization’s crisis response mechanisms.

 

“We expect that the CSTO member states will make joint efforts to further improve these mechanisms, which will undoubtedly serve the further development of cooperation between the member states, as well as the strengthening of the relevant structures and mechanisms of the Organization,” he said.
