Yerevan /Mediamax/. First president of Kazakhstan Nursultan Nazarbayev stated today that Azerbaijan may become observer at the Eurasian Economic Union (EAEU).

Speaking at the session of the Supreme Eurasian Economic Council Nazarbayev particularly said: “I cordially welcome the building of relations between Azerbaijan and Armenia after many years of discord. At the same time, as it has been told previously, I consider it possible to hold negotiations with Azerbaijan over becoming observer at the EAEU.”

He noted that the example of Uzbekistan which has a status of observer at the EAEU can inspire Azerbaijan, as “the Republic of Uzbekistan has won a lot from it.”
