Yerevan /Mediamax/. Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev has made several remarks regarding the meeting with his Russian counterpart Vladimir Putin on June 20 in Moscow.

“We gave discussed the post-war situation in the region, including the Zangezur Corridor, and the post-conflict period. We have no disagreement in our approaches. We - Russia and Azerbaijan - believe that the war is over, the conflict is over,” Aliyev said in an interview with the state television channel AzTV, quoted by Interfax.

“The risks of war must be minimized and eliminated. We have the same opinion on this issue. As for the Zangezur corridor, I have informed Mr. Putin that Armenia is again insincere in this matter. At a press conference with Mr. Charles Michel, I said that all communications in the region should be opened simultaneously and a selective approach should not be applied. Nevertheless, we see that Armenia again wants to play some kind of a game,” he said.

Aliyev has added that the Zangezur corridor “should be opened, as provided for by paragraph 9 of the trilateral agreement of November 10, 2020.” “This is our position,” he stressed. Aliyev has also noted that since June, Armenia has actually suspended the work of the trilateral working group at the level of deputy Prime Ministers on the opening of communications in the region.

Touching on the relations with Russia, Aliyev said:

“We are real strategic partners; we have no disagreements on long-term strategic cooperation. We have very strong friendly ties and personally, I have very close relations with Mr. Putin. We are politicians who trust each other. It is very important.”
