Yerevan/Mediamax/. Russia cooperates with Armenia on record seven international platforms, Chair of Russian Federation Council Committee on Foreign Affairs Konstantin Kosachev said today at the meeting with President of Armenian National Assembly Ararat Mirzoyan.

Kosachev added that Russia does not have as many points of intersection in cooperation with any other country and underlined the high level of collaboration with Armenian partners.

He also stressed that the change of government and parliament in Armenia did not hinder joint efforts and cooperation with Russia, which showed the mutual interest of the sides in a common agenda.

Ararat Mirzoyan stated that the key area of the two countries’ relations is the inter-parliamentary cooperation and highlighted three main elements: collaboration between standing committees, joint sessions of the committees, and productive cooperation on international parliamentary platforms.

According to Mirzoyan, issues arising in the framework of these platforms should be solved jointly. He also noted that Armenia expects support from Russian partners regarding appointment of candidates, proposed by Armenia, in certain bodies.
