Yerevan /Mediamax/. Chief of General Staff of Armenian Armed Forces, General Colonel Onik Gasparyan has announced today that his dismissal is unconstitutional.

“This is another proof that current crisis can have a patriotic solution only if the Prime Minister resigns and snap parliamentary elections are held,” he said in a statement.

“My stance is unchanged. I have applied to the Administrative court of Armenia in order to maintain the Constitution and the rule of law and use power only by the law in the country. I will continue my service to the homeland and the Armenian people in a different status.

Dear generals, officers, and soldiers, the sole mission of the Armed Forces is to ensure the security of the homeland, therefore, I call on you to continue your dedicated, patriotic service solely to the homeland and the people, for development of the army and for strengthening of Armenia and Artsakh,” said Onik Gasparyan.
