Pashinyan: “Tavush clashes proved there is no military solution for Karabakh conflict”

Yerevan /Mediamax/. Prime Minister of Armenia Nikol Pashinyan has stated that “the victorious clashes of July proved that the Karabakh conflict has no military resolution.”

“The incidents in Tavush took place after our previous meeting. I mean the victories of our armed forces in the July clashes, and I have to point out the following: Azerbaijan used to present its choice of not initiating the military resolution of Karabakh conflict as a concession to Armenia and the international community. All this time, we have been calling on the leadership of Azerbaijan not to speak with Armenia from the position of force and with the language of force because it was rhetoric with no prospect. As a matter of fact, our victories in July have proven that and the fact that there is no military solution for the Karabakh conflict. I think it is time for the Azerbaijani leadership to accept that because I have told on multiple occasions that if the Karabakh conflict has a military solution, the people of Artsakh have long resolved the conflict and provided the resolution,” said Nikol Pashinyan.

According to the Prime Minister, Armenia’s stance in the Karabakh matter remains constructive, as it has always been.

“Karabakh conflict must be settled peacefully, through negotiations, and that has always been Armenia’s stance. By the way, it must be so regardless of the origins of the governments and leaders,” said Pashinyan.

He has also noted that “Turkey’s destabilizing and destructive actions have caused concerns among our partners in the Middle East, the Eurasian region, and Europe.”

According to Nikol Pashinyan, Armenia is capable of meeting security challenges.

“At the same time, we must task ourselves with raising the level of the controllability of the security environment weekly, monthly, yearly. The Security Council is exactly the format where we should discuss and resolve issues of this kind,” concluded Nikol Pashinyan.
