Yerevan/Mediamax/. Armenian Minister of Defense Seyran Ohanyan visited the Center for Humanitarian Demining and Expertise, as well as the peacekeeping engineering battalion.

By the decision of the Armenian government, made on February 17, 2011, the Center for Demining, established in 2002 basing on the agreement between the Ministry of Defense of Armenia and the USA, was assigned the status of a non-commercial state organization “Center of Humanitarian Demining and Expertise”.

During the years of its activity, the Center realized demining on the territory of over 200 hectares. About 140 military underwent training and received international qualification, and a part of them participated in international missions.
