Yerevan/Mediamax/. Chairman of the Union of Architects of Armenia Mkrtich Minasyan told Mediamax today that the reason for resignation of the Chief Architect of Yerevan Michael Hasratyan is the fact that he is a "man of principle”.

“I know Michael Hasratyan, he is a man of principle. I believe that resignation is related to the fact that they have not come to common grounds as to a number of issues”, Mkrtich Minasyan said.

Yerevan newspapers write today that the Chief Architect of Yerevan has submitted his resignation.

The capital City Administration does not comment on this issue.

Newspapers read that the main reason for Michael Hasratyan’s resignation is the fact that he did not approve of a number of urban construction projects in Yerevan, which are authored by the current Chief Architect of Armenia and Deputy Minister of Urban Development Narek Sargsian.

There is information, according to which Narek Sargsian will become the Chief Architect of Yerevan.
