Yerevan /Mediamax/. The Syrian Armed Forces managed to restore full control over the Armenian Cemetery of Deir ez-Zor on May 22, repelling the forces of the Islamic State of Iraq and Al-Sham (ISIS).

Almasdarnews reports that the Syrian Arab Army’s 137th Artillery Brigade of the Republican Guard liberated this strategic site in Western Deir ez-Zor after a violent battle.

The Syrian Armed Forces killed several ISIS terrorists during the battle for the Armenian Cemetery, including several foreign terrorists from North Africa.

Mediamax reminds that the fighters of the Islamic State (ISIS) terrorist group mined and blew up the Armenian Church of the Holy Martyrs in Deir ez-Zor on September 22, 2014.
