Yerevan/Mediamax/. The Armenian government didn't give any principle objections to making amendments in the draft law on "Copyright and Related Rights”.

The draft law was presented by a number of MPs as a legislative initiative.

The draft law envisages permission of copying materials from a newspaper, magazine or online media only in a justified volume and with a reference to the original source of the article.

Another amendment suggests setting compensation at the amount 100-200 times more than the minimum salary in case of violation of copyright.

The entire material is allowed to be copied only if the author gives consent to it and the terms and conditions can be set by the author's contract.

According to preliminary information, the draft law will be discussed during the fall session of the National Assembly.
