Yerevan/Mediamax/. Within Russian project on "space garbage” study, three new 30-35sm telescopes will be installed in Byurakan Observatory in June 2013.

Director of the observatory Hayk Harutyunyan stated this today, Mediamax reports.

He said that the telescopes should have been installed still in 2012 but the process was prolonged due to problems with customs.

Besides the new telescopes, 2 new receivers will be mounted in the Byurakan Observatory.

Mediamax touched upon the topic of the Russian project for researching “space garbage” in May 2011.

Hayk Harutyunyan also said that instead of the AMD 65mln which are annually allocated to the observatory from the state budget, they will get AMD185mln this year and AMD100mln will be allocated to modernization of the 2.6 meter telescope and re-equipment of other telescopes.
