Yerevan/Mediamax/. The last shows will be held in Yerevan “Nemo” Dolphinarium today.
Director of the Dolphinarium Lilit Sahakyan told Mediamax today. She noted that the Dolphinarium will close by October. “Dolphins will be sent to Russian Federation for guest performances and they will be brought back till October”, she said.
Answering Mediamax’s question in which cities the guest performances will take place, Lilit Sahakyan answered: “It’s not known yet”.
Commenting on the rumors according to which there are no relevant water conditions for animals in the Yerevan Dolphinarium, she said: “There is no such kind of problem. The Dolphinarium has been operating for over a year and if there were such a problem it would have occurred earlier”.
She noted that it was the intention of the owners to transport the dolphins.
Yerevan Dolphinarium is owned by Ukraine “Nerum” organization which has a number of dolphinariums across Russia and Ukraine.
“Nemo” dolphinarium has been operating since December 2010. The Dolphinarium currently has 4 dolphins and 2 seals.
Mediamax notes that a number of environmental organizations fought against operation of the Dolphinarium demanding to close it.
