45% of polled Armenians think the country is heading in the wrong direction

Yerevan /Mediamax/. 45% of the people surveyed in Armenia think that the country is heading in the wrong direction, and 24% could not or did not want to answer the question.

31% of the surveyed think the country is heading in the right direction.

 

These are the results of the survey conducted on behalf of “International Republican

Institute’s” Center for Insights in Survey Research by Breavis. The survey was conduction throughout Armenia between February 8 and February 16, 2021, and featured 1,510 permanent residents of Armenia.

 

33% of the respondents said they would vote for if the ruling My Step alliance in the parliamentary elections, 3% would vote for Prosperous Armenia, and 2% would vote for the 2nd Armenian President Robert Kocharyan.

 

Only 1% of the surveyed would vote for the Republican Party of Armenia (RPA), Armenian Revolutionary Front (ARF), Bright Armenia, and Sasna Tsrer.

 

25% of the surveyed said they would never vote for RPA. The indices are as follows for the other parties: 17% would never vote for Prosperous Armenia, 14% for My Step, 10% for ARF, 8% for Bright Armenia, 1% for Robert Kocharyan.

 

42% of the respondents said they would not vote for any party, 12% were undecided. In Yerevan, the indices were 50% and 13%, respectively.

 

28% of the surveyed named economy/unemployment as the most important problem of their household. The second-most important problem was housing – 8%, and only 2% named physical security/military attack.

 

When asked to name the most important problem the country is facing, the respondents gave the following answers:

 

Political instability – 12%

Economy/unemployment – 11%

Nagorno-Karabakh conflict – 9%

The need for military reform – 8%

Bad work of the Government – 6%

Return of captives and missing persons – 6%

Territorial/Border issues – 5%

National security of Armenia – 3%
