Yerevan /Mediamax/. Today the Lithuanian medial team of 8 medical workers and 3 experts, who have treated COVID-19 patients since the beginning of the pandemic, will fly from Šiauliai to Yerevan.
The Armenian Embassy in Lithuania has stated that the team is bringing 30,000 coronavirus tests and 60,000 sample containers as well as 20,000 ventilator filters produced in Lithuania.
The Health Minister of Lithuania has expressed hope that the assistance will help Armenia overcome the epidemic.
“Lithuania is proud to support Armenia in this difficult period,” he said.
Armenian Ambassador to Lithuania Tigran Mkrtchyan has thanked the Lithuanian government and all involved ministries.
“Lithuania was the first to respond to Armenia’s calls for an assisting medical team and the only country to provide assistance at the state level for the second time. Lithuania is sending its most valuable capital – the human resource along with much needed medical supplies,” he said.
