Yerevan/Mediamax/. Health Minister of Armenia Arsen Torosyan does not rule out that people might need to wear face masks for a year or two.
“We need to be ready for a long-term fight and follow the rules of putting on and taking off the masks,” he said.
Torosyan has stated that starting from tomorrow, coronavirus patients with mild or no symptoms will transferred from hotels to their homes and quarantined there.
“It does not mean they will not have medical supervision. New coronavirus patients, who will not need medical aid, will be quarantined at home as well. For two days now we have been holding intensive remote classes for doctors, nurses and managers, so that this process does not turn chaotic,” said Arsen Torosyan.
He has noted that along with the increase of coronavirus cases with mild of no symptoms, there is also an increase in the number of patients in critical and extremely critical conditions and the number of patients on ventilators.
“135 people are in critical condition, 63 - in extremely critical, and 15 patients are on ventilators. This is what we have been trying to avoid. We must do everything to make sure that no patient in critical condition is left without access to treatment. We are holding under the pressure yet, but we need to make extra efforts and follow the safety rules established by the Commandant,” said Arsen Torosyan.
