Yerevan/Mediamax/. Deputy Prime Minister of Armenia, Commandant for the duration of the state of emergency Tigran Avinyan has presented to the National Assembly the main reasons for the government’s decision to extend the state of emergency.
“It is impossible to exercise full control over the virus. A vaccine will be available months later, if not in a year. Most measures undertaken by governments are aimed at managing the uncertainties,” he said.
Tigran Avinyan has noted that 12% of Armenia’s population is in the risk group.
“If the government does not act, the number of severe coronavirus cases, which require hospitalization of the patient, might reach 8,200,” he said.
The Deputy Prime Minister has stated that the government aims to flatten the coronavirus curve, securing its gradual retreat without uncontrollable outbreaks.
