Yerevan/Mediamax/. Prime Minister of Armenia Nikol Pashinyan has met with residents of Jermuk (Vayots Dzor marz) at the government building today to discuss the situation around Amulsar gold mine.

The government press service has said that in particular, the parties talked about the Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA) procedures, monitoring of the Amulsar project, the public concerns, and the legal, economic and environmental aspects of the issue.

 

“The Prime Minister attached importance to the government-society dialogue on the issues of public interest and noted that the resolution of the dispute about Amulsar project must be based on the balanced interest of the Republic of Armenia and the next steps must be taken minding the importance of considering all elements of the project as a whole,” the press service said.

 

Nikol Pashinyan has also received acting Lydian International Interim President and CEO Edward Sellers and Lydian Armenia Managing Director Hayk Aloyan today.

 

This meeting focused on the same topic of discussion. In particular, the government press service said, the parties touched on the environmental report conducted by the international expert group, as well as the analysis of the report and the issues raised in connection with it.
