Over the past 8 months, 15 thousand citizens of Armenia submitted applications for relocation to Russia

Yerevan/Mediamax/. During the entire period of the Russian “Assistance to Compatriots” governmental program’s existence since 2007, 780 families or 1897 people, moved from Armenia to Russia for permanent residence.

Mediamax reports that Head of State Migration Service of Armenia Gagik Yeganyan said this in Yerevan today.

 

According to him, in the course of the entire activity of the program, 29 500 citizens of Armenia (according to the data for July 15, 2011) submitted applications to the Federal Migration Service of Russia, 15 824 of which over the past 8 months.

 

“This is a negative phenomenon of course, which, as the Prime Minister has already stated, will become a topic of discussion at an interstate level”, Gagik Yeganyan said.
