Yerevan/Mediamax/. Street Music’s Day will be held in Yerevan for the first time on May 21 by the initiative of the Embassy of the Republic of Lithuania in Armenia.
“We came up with the idea to hold such a musical holiday in Yerevan around a year ago. I’m glad that Yerevan Mayor Taron Margaryan joined our initiative. This year is symbolic for our countries, as we celebrate the 25th anniversary of diplomatic relations between Armenia and Lithuania. In fact, Lithuania was the first to recongnize the independence of Armenia,” Ambassador of the Republic of Lithuania in Armenia Erikas Petrikas told the journalists today.
On May 21, the events will start at 16:00 at Northern Avenue, around Azatutyun Square, and at Charles Aznavour Square.
The holiday will come to an end at 20:00 with a gala concert at Charles Aznavour Square, where Armenian and Lithuanian musicians will perform.
Levon Malkhasyan, Hayko, Aramo, Emma Petrosyan and other Armenian musicians will be giving performances.
During the event, famous 4Fun Lithuanian band will play as well.
Street Music’s Day is a joyful musical tradition in Lithuania, the idea of it belongs to popular Lithuanian rock musician Andrius Mamontovas.
The entrance to all events is free.
