Yerevan/Mediamax/. Yerevan "Nairi” Cinema Theatre, which was closed, will start functioning again during the days of "Golden Apricot” International Film Festival.
Mediamax reports that Director of the Festival, Movie Director Harutyun Khachatryan said this at a news conference today. He said that the decision was made according to the agreement, reached with the owner of the Cinema Theatre building.
“The Festival develops and the number of Cinema Theatres reduces. This is a tragic situation, however, everything hinges on money”, he said, noting that in order to rent “Nairi” Cinema Theatre constantly, AMD 2-3mln is necessary every month.
According to Harutyun Khachatryan, the Festival has long needed its own cinema theatre. He noted that Yerevan City Administration is ready to provide the hall of the school after Spendiaryan for the festival; however, significant investments are required for its technical reequipment.
