Yerevan /Mediamax/. The winners of Viktor Ambartsumian International Prize 2014 will be known on July 18.
Viktor Ambartsumian International Prize was established by the Armenian President in 2009 and is presently one of the main international prizes in the sphere of astronomy and astrophysics.
The prize pool makes USD 500 thousand. Since 2010, the Prize has been awarded every two years.
The winners of Viktor Ambartsumian International Prize 2010 were Michel Mayor (Switzerland), Garik Israelian (Spain) and Nuno Santos (Portugal), and winners of Viktor Ambartsumian International Prize 2012 were Jaan Einasto (Estonia) and Igor Novikov (Russia).
