Yerevan /Mediamax/. Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev stated that Armenia considers the conveyed proposals on peace treaty between the two countries acceptable.

“We receive certain messages from Armenian officials. According to the information given to me recently, one of these messages is that they consider our proposals acceptable. This is very good news and I hope that the meeting in Brussels will provide more clarity on this issue,” Aliyev said during the meeting with the OSCE Chairman-in-Office, Poland’s Foreign Minister Zbigniew Rau, TASS reports citing the press service of the President of Azerbaijan.

On April 6 trilateral meeting of the President of the European Council Charles Michel, Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev and Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan is expected to take place in Brussels.

Aliyev voiced hope that the meeting will be fruitful.

“We have already had several such meetings. We must move towards peace between Azerbaijan and Armenia, sign a peace agreement as soon as possible,” he said.

Aliyev also noted that the 5 principles of the peaceful settlement proposed to Yerevan reflect the norms of international law.

“All these principles form the basis of relations between any countries of the world: mutual recognition of territorial integrity and inviolability of borders, then delimitation of borders. I believe that peace will come to the Caucasus on this basis,” the Azerbaijani president added.
