Yerevan /Mediamax/. Ilham Aliyev stated that Azerbaijan is planning to build a new power line through “Zangezur corridor”.
“We plan to build a new line from Azerbaijan to the Nakhichevan Autonomous Republic through the Zangezur corridor, and from there to Turkey and Iran. The Zangezur corridor is not only a railway, a highway, it will also play a role in the export of energy resources,” Aliyev said in an interview with the Azertag agency.
“Growing exports will increase our importance, geopolitical significance and bring us additional foreign exchange earnings,” Azerbaijani president said.
He also noted that Azerbaijan plans to build about 30 hydroelectric power plants in the “liberated territories.”
