Yerevan /Mediamax/. Bombardier Recreational Products (BRP) has announced it has suspended the delivery of aircraft engines to "countries with unclear usage.”
The Quebec-based company - better known for its Ski-Doo and Lynx snowmobiles - has said it became aware late last week that some of the engines produced by its Austrian subsidiary, Rotax, are being used on Turkish Bayraktar TB2 UAVs.
BPR’s senior vice president and spokesperson Martin Langelier has told Radio Canada International that upon learning about the use of its engines in Bayraktar drones, the company has started a thorough investigation immediately and suspended delivery of aircraft engines “in countries with unclear usage” in the meantime.
Langelier has stressed that all Rotax aircraft engines are certified for civilian use only.
