Yerevan /Mediamax/. Speaker of Georgian Parliament Davit Usupashvili met with the representatives of the Armenian Diaspora.

Opening the meeting at the Parliament’s building in Tbilisi on February 9, Davit Usupashvili said that the civil society’s representatives of Armenian descent “are not guests but citizens of Georgia”, Mediamax reports.

Draft laws on labor migration and self-government were discussed at the meeting.

Dual citizenship was also touched upon – it was earlier reported that Samtskhe-Javakheti Armenians face certain difficulties with this issue.

Davit Usupashvili promised to arrange a separate meeting with the authors of draft law on “State Language” in order to have detailed discussion of relevant issues.

The Speaker of the Georgian Parliament was to pay an official visit to Armenia on February 1, however, the visit was deferred until mid-February.
